I spent weeks on and off looking for something I could use to mount a solar light fixture onto a horizontal 4″ square steel signpost without drilling or marring the post. Everything was either sized wrong or too expensive. I came across this product totally by accident, and it was exactly what I needed, at a very reasonable price. And for the application, it’s practically nuclear-hardened.

It installed easily on the rv bumper. I am sure it can easily support more weight than the bumper it’s self would ever hold. I also have my spare tire on the bumper and had to add a 7″ extender to the hitch receiver for my cargo rack I use it for to clear the spare tire. It looks like it would work well for a hitch mounted bike rack as well. I’m thinking if it gets too heavy I may need to reinforce the bumper.

Installation was a little bit awkward as you had to hold the U-Bolts in place as place a washer, lock-washer and nut on the U-Bolt with one hand. Not very easy to do. Should have 2 people to install this unit. Once it was installed it held my bike rack and 2 bikes very well. I used a locking pin so nobody could steal the whole unit and bikes too.

I paired this with a 5 bike rack carrier and it has held up well. It doesn’t shake and hasn’t bent the bumper much. I did pickup some metal corner fence pieces that I used to reinforce the square bolts that hold this receiver on and that helped prevent any warping of the bumper that holds the sewer hose. So around the bolts I have additional steel corner pieces that greatly strengthen the areas that attach to this receiver. I would also recommend reinforcement to the bumper itself if you are going to hold several bikes. The torsion force that these can place on the small bumper can cause some huge issues on the road if this isn’t properly reinforced.

Just ordered another for the other side. This fits perfectly on our Airstream’s A-Frame.The streetside mount is to hold our hitch when we get to the site. The curbside will hold a mast holder holding a Harbor Freight telescoping flag pole for our Starlink.Very fast install.Shipping was slow, but it weighs a lot and had to cross the country.

The receiver is actually very well built and very easy to assemble. The only down fall is I have to find wedges to properly secure my bike rack into this receiver. Besides that it’s absolutely awesome

I bought this product because I have very very little clearance between the back of my travel trailer camper and the square rear bumper – so I had to find a hitch receiver with U-Bolts such that I could secure the receiver channel below the bumper. This works well for me that way, and gives me a mounting for my two-bike Yakima rack. So far about 500 miles, so I may update this review after my long journey (3000 miles in the fall).
