The last sentence in the on-can Directions: ” It should not be applied to aluminum and steel surfaces .” ???? That is just Silly … but … I am not going to use it on aluminum and/or steel until I receive documentation from the Seller that this information is in-error.To make this more fun, this Item is non-returnable.EDIT: I received a response, “Dear Customer,We appreciate your feedback and attention to detail. Upon reviewing the instructions for use, we discovered an incorrect statement on the product. We want to clarify that this product is indeed suitable for use on both aluminum and steel surfaces.We are taking immediate action to correct this mistake and will update the instructions accordingly. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. …”Hopefully, they will make a note of this on the product webpage.So, good to go. I am changing my Overall Rating from 3 Stars to 5 Stars. 😉

Product does indeed prevent weld splatter from sticking as advertised. It also prevents paint from sticking and I have not found a way to remove this product to allow paint to bond to steel to my project.
