The surface that mates to the carburetor is not flat because of poor quality manufacture. It does not make a good seal to the carb, which of course is the whole pointI’m returning it . . . .

External marketplace context: I liked the look of this hat much better than the Spectre version. It's bigger and has a nicer ribbed design element. I wasn't concerned with the bad review concerning the sealing as I'm going to use a silicone gasket for a forced induction application. I think I received a unit that was returned - so I got a killer deal on it at $125.
