The part was what I needed. It serves it purpose as it keeps my power trunk pull down function. It is nice to still find GM parts that are still needed for older model GM cars. Replacement was easy as well. I recall when I realized this part was keeping my trunk pull down feature from working properly. It is hard to believe it has that much of an impact. I was thankful to locate the part and learn it is shared with other GM models as well.

If you have a relative who is holding onto an obsolete car that has a trunk that doesn’t let you manually close it all the way because of the “great idea” of having a motor close the last 5% for you, and that “great idea” stops working the way it’s supposed to, this switch is likely all that is needed to fix it.No instructions are included with it, but it’s pretty easy to find a video online for the basics. Search for your car name and “trunk pull down switch” and there you go.Most of the time, if your quasi-luxury trunk closing device stops working, it’s just the switch, not the actual motor. If you end up having to replace the motor too, you should replace the switch as well, since this part is more likely to go bad than the motor it activates. So, start with this switch. If it doesn’t work after putting this part in, then you’ll probably need the pull down motor. The pull down motor can cost over $70.00. This switch is likely the culprit and will only cost you $20-25 and about 15 minutes of work to do it yourself. What you need: A “torx” screwdriver to loosen the torx screw that holds this switch on the mounting bracket for the trunk catch and a flat screw driver to help pry apart the wire connector and perhaps help you lift the switch of its mount (depending on how stuck yours is after removing the single torx screw).Your trunk covering may or may not require tools to expose the work area (trunk catch). Usually no tools are needed for that, just hand removable screws or clips.Go forward and fix your old school, not really as cool as they thought it would be, trunk pull down thingy.

Cant go wrong with OEM GM ,works great , stop slamming your trunk ! Check the where the one screw hole that holds down the electric switch , check if its split mine was ,get some JB weld , do the perimeter of the clear plastic Square when you look down at it when the switch is not installed , use a tooth pick ,fix it up diligently,

This was a perfect fit in my father-in-law’s ’93 Lincoln Town Car. It took about 10 minute to install and worked great. He’s very happy that the trunk works again. Recommend.

This item worked perfectly on my 1991 Lincoln Town Car, despite being a “GM” part. I installed it in less than 2 minutes and now my trunk pull down works again!

Easy installation on my Classic 1995 Cadillac Sedan De Ville NorthStar! Great Amazon price along with only $5.99 2-Day shipping. Part does fit many other General Motors Models as well but automatic trunk lid pulldown feature was standard on most luxury brands. Have a great day!
