Description
ACDelco GM Original Equipment HVAC Control Panels, or control heads, translate the user’s commands into mechanical, vacuum, or electrical signals to operate the blower fan and the blend, mode, and recirculation doors. Some systems with automatic functions have an integrated or remotely mounted computer module that monitors the control head inputs and the cabin and duct temperatures to adjust the blower speed and door positions to maintain the desired cabin temperature. This original equipment control panel is a GM-recommended replacement for your vehicle’s original components and has been manufactured to fit your GM vehicle, providing the same performance, durability, and service life you expect from General Motors.

Purchased to replace the original unit in my 2018 Colorado due to issues with the backlighting not working. 10 minute install and works perfectly.

Did a DIY swap to a Sony XAV-AX3200 for my 2015 GMC Canyon SLE back in April. Somehow during the disassembly I killed the original HVAC control panel. No idea how unplugging it and moving it to a new shroud caused it to break, but it was dead after the stereo swap. Replacement control panels weren’t in stock anywhere, so I sort of forgot about. With the summer in full swing decided to get the HVAC up and running.Bought this AC DELCO part (fulfilled and shipped by Amazon) on a Tuesday, had it in hand Friday. Popped it in and it worked perfectly. The temperature and fan dials actually worked better than the stock controls, which seemed unresponsive during “rapid” turning.

These units lose LED backlights regularly, and I’m talking about the OEMs. Anyway this fit and was my third unit to replace old burned out ones.

This one fits and works but the accent lighting is red and all my other stock accent lights are aqua blue. I wasn’t aware there were different color options available so now I have mismatched color at night. Not sure which element of the part number would denote backlight color.

If you’re here reading this, you probably have dead or flickering LEDs on your hvac controls like I did. I had two burned out and one that flickered randomly, which was very distracting at night. Very irritating on a truck that is only 5 years old. (2020 GMC Canyon)I was relieved to see that this is a pretty easy panel to replace at least. There are some good YouTube videos that cover it. I just did mine and it only took about 20 minutes. You’ll need a 10mm socket to disconnect the battery, a plastic pry tool, and a 7mm socket for the dash. The wire connectors are the most difficult part. Mine were different than the video I watched. They have little white tabs that you need to pull back before you can depress the black tabs and pull the connector out.The new panel works as expected. I was worried I’d get red LEDs, like one reviewer reported, but mine are white like the original. It looks like it was manufactured around 2021, so it probably will burn out eventually like the first one. If it does, I will update the review.
