   why try to connect a bunch of relays when you can get this? this works perfect with my car alarm Viper responder 350 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00445TG52/ref=oh_details_o05_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). it came with a varietly of resistors so i didnt have to worry about hunting down for those at my local electronics store.note that there are no duplicate resistors. most likely you will use one or two from the whole package. So be careful not to mess it up with the soldering.i save a lot of time by using this.

   So I bought this for my doors which are power doors but aren’t remote door locks. It was for use with Avital 5103L also bought on Amazon. The relay module does plug into the Avital box. My door has 1 wire for both lock and unlock and I didn’t know how to wire it (or anything else) but I just bought this with the remote start anyway because some forum said I needed it. My car needs to be unlocked with a regular ground signal and locked with a ground through a 480 OHM resistor.Long story short I cut the brown/blk and white/blk wires. I grounded the purple wire and I connected the blue/blk wire to the car’s lock/unlock wire. Then I connected the green/blk wire to the 470 OHMS resistor by wrapping the wire around the resistor’s thin wire and using a lot of electrical tape and wire ties. Then I connected the open end of the resistor to the blue/blk wire using more tape and wire ties. You can solder if you know what you’re doing.Also as another side note my specific car (different for every model of course) uses a distinct orange/black wire for the locks. Everywhere I read said the wire was located in the door but when I disconnected the rubber tube that connects my door/car and hides the wires I saw the orange/black wire went into my car. I eventually found it by the main fuse box and in the main group of wires. Hopefully yours can also be found inside the car so you don’t have to run the relay through the car door.

   Usually to add power locks as an after market modification you need two standard relays, one for up (positive power) and one for down (reverse polarity). This 451M makes it easy to wire because is is basically two relays in one simple package. It comes with easy to follow instructions and when used with remote key entry systems and/or spring loaded switches works like a charm. One note: I’m very good with electronics and could not figure out how to make it work properly with a 5 wire actuator like http://amzn.com/B00LURSUSG but it works perfectly with 3-wire actuators.

   This is a fantastic item! In between the wiring diagram and some knowledge I had from being a mechanic for years I was easily able to connect to my new viper security system to now have auto door locks. I also purchased the door locks from here along with this relay. Took about 10 min to wire under the dash… Took far longer to orient and place the door acuators. When from manual door locks to auto door locks. I like that I don’t have a button for them as the viper system automatically locks them when I’m inside and start the vehicle then unlocks them when I shut it down.

   This is exactly what I needed. I pulled out some stock door locks from the junk yard to convert my truck to power locks and forgot to pull the relay system before the truck got crushed. so I was without a relay system and instead of trying to design one and wire it up correctly This all in one unit worked perfect. The wiring diagram was a little confusing but it is pretty straight forward.

   Worked great with my viper alarm.. Hooked it up to some after market door locks its working good. Pretty much it is 2 relays in 1.. now I can open both my doors at a buttons touch..

   Are you installing remote door locks with your car alarm system? If you have the right system, then this make things so much easier since it is plug and play basically. Yes, yes, you could get a couple of relays and make up what this thing does, but for $9 or $10 bucks delivered? My time can be spent elsewhere on other things instead. Worked great!

   The instructions aren’t real clear, I had to do a lot of googling to find a diagram of my application. But it works good and looks well made.
