Holding my hood up with a skateboard was a pain in my 98 GS so I got these and I am very pleased, they allow you to easily remove the ball joints for easier removal/maintenance and easily keep thr hood up. I no longer have to worry about getting bonked by a very heavy hood now.

The hood struts seems like decent quality and was a direct fit for my 2001 Lexus GS300. The hood struts also came with new threaded ball inserts (as pictured) already pre-attached so it made installation a total breeze. I noticed some kits from different brands don’t include the new threaded ball inserts which would mean you would have to remove them from the old struts which can be a pain. When lifting the hood with the new struts, the hood goes up smoothly and doesn’t fling up too quickly giving it an OEM feel. Overall I’m quite impressed with these struts especially for the price. Highly recommend for Lexus GS300 owners.
