We ordered these to tie down an Amazon Basics rooftop cargo carrier and they worked perfectly, 450 miles round-trip. We used them on a 2021 Kia Sorento that was equipped with flush mount roof rails. We didn’t have cross bars so we needed to use the door frames. They held the cargo bag down tight and securely. As far as rain getting into the car doors, I can’t speak on that because it didn’t rain the entire trip. 😁
