The IS Series intake system is a traditional, under hood intake system. By reducing turbulence in the pipe and providing a less restrictive flow through the high performance filter, each short ram intake system is engineered to provide improved horsepower and torque gains over the stock setup. Each system is built from 6061, T-6 aluminum alloy to ensure the lightest design possible. I think this is a good investment for my scion xb as it actually improved my acceleration. sound is different from stock and made my car a little bit faster. The only thing I didn’t like is you can’t really see the air intake as the cone filter is hidden out of sight after the installation. Very happy with the purchase and its worth every penny. I paid less than $160 for it and $45 for labor to install it. so total $200.

After reading the good and bad reviews on this product I came to the conclusion that the people that gave this product a negative review have no idea on how to work on a car. The fitment was perfect although a bit tricky to get into place but again if you have any decent motor skills you can get it to fit. I have noticed a slight increase in power and gas mileage and have since added a full header back exhaust system and fuel management and this intake works perfect with the additions. Great product

I purchased this for my scion xb. Install was strait forward and instructions were accurate (except I did have to completely remove the battery to fit it) I noticed an improvement in performance and the sound is nice. You can barely hear it below 3k rpms but it opens up after that and is decently loud. Rated 4 out of 5 because I wish it was louder in the lower rpms.

Taking the stock intake out is a pain, but the Injen Short Ram is a GREAT improvement because it forces more air into the engine and improves gas mileage. I have a 2005 Scion xB and the on-board computer adjusts the fuel to air mixture to be leaner with the short ram on it. The stock intake is so restrictive, with 1 inch tubes for pushing air in to the engine; but with the Injen Short Ram, it doubles the amount of air going in and gives your vehicle an aggressive sound. One thing that is necessary, you have to remove the MAF sensor from your stock set-up and install it in the open hole seen on the intake. If you don’t get it on there tight, your dash will throw up a Christmas tree of lights and completely mess up your fuel to air mixture, destroying your gas mileage. Overall, this is a great addition to any car to make it sound better (low grumble) and if you add a Cat-back exhaust, your vehicle will roar to life.

Got exactly what I ordered with all parts needed, instructions werent very helpful and its a very tight fit between the battery and the fog light, broke my fog light out. Overall its not a bad little accessorie and i can feel a little power difference.

Received the part just now, about 10 minutes ago.Unboxed it and the weld isn’t even completed around the air temp sensor mount.Very disappointed in this so far, there shouldn’t be vacuum leaks in a brand new part.
