The strap will do the job of holding down your vehicle while towing. The stitching is strong and without any loose ends. The main part that goes around the axle is reenforced to help prevent chaffing. The D loops on the end are flat and galvanized to prevent corrosion. You’ll need a hook with a spring closure to use it safely and ensure it doesn’t come off if you get some slack in your line.One of the benefits of using an axle strap instead of chains is that you can slip the strap under any brake lines you may have going down the axle. Chains are usually too thick to do so. Chains will also scratch the paint off your axle whereas this strap is soft and won’t do that. I’ll be getting more of these and ditching my chain setup.

I ordered this strap to add to my rigging equipment for use as an axle tie-down and for special applications where a short strong reinforced strap is required.I custom fabricate large sculptures which often involves lifting heavy odd shaped objects, conventional lifting straps are a must have and I’ve found these shorter straps are very handy as well. This strap has performed well and has proven to be versatile and effective. The short length and protective sleeve fit my application perfectly.The strap is soft and flexible while still being strong and durable.One thing to note: the D-rings will not pass through each other, so you can’t sinch this by putting one D-ring through the other.At the time of my order this was priced under $10, which, based on the quality, seems a reasonable cost and a good value.
