I was pretty impressed with the quality of these out of the box. They seem pretty strong and like they could handle a decent load. When I went to install I realized the t nuts slide in the rails so if you have anything already mounted to your bed rails, you will need to remove that to get these into position. I have a soft top so that was a bit of a pain but not terrible. I was disappointed that the bolts that came with it were too long and left a lot of play in the mounts. I had some large nuts that I used as spacers and that fixed the issue. For the price though these should fit out of the box. Maybe it’s just the 2024 Tacoma they don’t fit but even still, a set of spacers would make it a universal fit.

These mounting brackets are certainly sturdy. I’m not sure I would use them to carry a bike as the picture shows though, but for a side mounting option for shovels, traction boards, and the like they are more than enough. The mounting bolts that they come with are way too long for a tacoma mounting rail and you’ll have to cut a half an inch off the bolts to make them work. I have never looked at tundra so I can’t say if they need cut for that truck as well.The metal these are made from is thick and heavy duty. I do find the mounting location options to be limited in the tacoma, but that has to do with the truck and not the brackets themselves. I can recommend them, but keep in mind you will have to cut the mounting bolts to make them work in a tacoma, or just buy shorter bolts.

I installed these mounting brackets to hold traction boards in the bed of my 2019 Tacoma. The instructions are good, straightforward, and easy to understand. Fitment is very precise from top to bottom where the truck bed is, and I have a thick bed mat so I had to shove the brackets in place and this will probably leave some permanent indentations into the bed mat but that’s acceptable to me.I took off one star, because as another reviewer said and I can confirm that the bolts provided are too long for the truck’s bed rails. But instead of cutting them like the other reviewer did, I used a washer and lock nut to make it fit and tighten properly.

I have a 2018 Tundra and liked the idea of this to keep some things from rolling around when I have them back there. They are good quality and look great. Honestly they function and fit as they should and installation was easy enough. I don’t think I will leave them in there permanently because they do take some of the bed space and void it some so if your truck is also a work truck or you need absolutely ever square inch it is good that they are easy to put in/out.
