About this item

  • Gearcase gear lube drain screw washer 830749 is rubber coated stainless steel that fits for Mercury and Mariner outboards and all MerCruiser stern drives with 3/8-16 gearcase drain/fill screw holes.
  • Always double check to make sure the washer has been secured when reinstalling the drain screw. Water could infiltrate the gearcase without it and cause catastrophic damage to the gearcase.
  • Keep spares on hand to assure placement after changing gear lube in gearcase.This is the exact seal for its gearcase drain, filler, and vent screws.
  • Change this every time you change your gearcase oil. It’s designed to “crush” under torque so it’s a one time use washer. Replacement gaskets for the Mercury’s lower unit drain and vent plugs.

    Gaskets are a bit sloppy around the drain/fill plug of a merc 150 pro xs. Seems like they will seal fine though, we’ll find out next boating season.
