No matter how many times we tried these don’t extend long enough to compress aftermarket Eibach springs for my Toyota RAV4. Maybe would be fine on a car spring but not made for anything bigger.

I used these spring compressors to change the struts on a 2012 Ford F-150. They worked very well, but the threads still stretched, causing enough binding that I could not turn the unloaded compressor by hand. I’m guessing you could only used these for a few projects before having to replace the screw. Still, I thinks this is a good set for the back yard mechanic and the setup was safer and easier to use than some of the cheapest sets. Storage case is nice.

I used this to remove full size springs from a Mustang front end. The units worked very well and without problems of any short. I did grease all threads and working surfaces first to reduce metal to metal friction. Used hand tools and incrementally compressed each side.Nice storage case for well made equipment that I would recommend.

Extremely well built, works great. Can’t beat it for the value, I even like it better than my snap on spring compressor

Amazon kind of screwed up the delivery on this item big time suggesting another address for a RR address. Other couriers had no issue. Still some straightening to do on that. Nothing to do with the product.Ok, the device, I haven’t used yet but have a picture that may help. But what I gather even of the competition tools; you may want to put a thin coat of grease, lithium or axle on the threads/shaft on the tool before you use. This should help reduce stress on the threads and friction on the shaft of the device protecting it from failure some have reported. From this and other makes/models as well. There are some good reviews, and a few not so.Overall this seems like a fairly robust tool. The picture shows the max you can open to go on your springs. There are no instructions so you’ll need to YouTube how to use.

Used these to compress regular springs so I could replace control arms on a Mazda tribute , it was a tight fit but with a little effort they fit , just becauseful to set them in the right place to compress evenly , but they are extremely heavy but worked great , next I will work on compressing the springs on the struts

I should have bought these a long time ago. They made it quite simple to change the shock absorbers on the rear of my 1992 Jaguar XJS. I also used them to install new coil springs on the front struts of my VW Golf.

Worked much better than I expected. Very cautious due to the nature of compressed springs but this held perfectly allowing me to compress strut springs necessary to complete the replacement of front struts. 2007 SLK280 Mercedes Benz.
