The headline really says it all. What is missing in this review is a rave review about how the product fixed the problem instantly while saving hundreds. What this product did was allow me to evaluate the mono valve on a 1985 Mercedes 300D. I have one housing, two armatures. I bought two of these kits and reconditioned both armatures, then tried them one at time with suitable instrumentation before and during test drives. While there is not space here to give all the details, I feel confident that my two old armatures are no longer up to the task. I ordered a whole new mono valve, confident that it was the appropriate thing to do. I was glad to be able get these kits to thoroughly try out my armatures, as well as the balance of the system. I feel confident that these were fine kits.

I used this repair kit to replace the defect heater valves in my R107 560SL. The replacement itself was an easy straight forward process. Now after a few month the membrane is broken again and the heating is failing

84 300D Turbo….like so many others, no heat when driving faster than 60mph. Great heat below that speed. The monovalve is located on the firewall, just to the right of the battery when facing the car from the front. The unit you need to deal with is held on by 4 flathead coarse screws. Note that you don’t need to remove tbe electric connector on the top of the metal plate held on by the 4 screws you need to remove. DONT LOSE THESE SCREWS!Lift off the plate. Pull the monovalve core out. You may want to clean off any mineral deposits and rust on the flat washers (you’ll reuse them) take a close look at your black rubber diaphram. Mine had a small tear on it.Replace this with the new one. Replace the rubber cone shaped rubber seal, with the smaller side pointing away from the brass screen area. Some people have problems removing the little C clip that holds the assembly together. Here’s how to remove it…take a small flat head screwdriver and place the corner of the blade tip into one of the openings in the c clip. Now you can lightly drag the clip off the shaft. What I had the most problem was with trying to get the 2 screws that are covered by sheet metal near the firewall. I had a offset screwdriver, but that was difficult to use. I found the easiest way to unscrew the two rear screws was going into the kitchen and getting a butter knife. Yes, it was slow going, especially with cold fingers, but it worked. Do yourself a favor by spraying the 4 screws with wd 40 or PB Blaster and let that begin lubricating the screw threads before trying to unscrew them. Also, keep the butter knife away from the battery.Once it is back together, check for leaks while you are warming up the car to see if the heat works. Go for a ride and get it up to 65mph. Hopefully, your heat won’t begin to fade to cold.If this works for you, you just saved a bundle of money you could have spent on the new type replacement for the whole monovalve unit. The only thing I’m not sure of is when I turn the temperature wheel, from all the way cold, to all the way hot, I hear 2 clicks. I can now get heat over 60mph, but I have to keep the temperature wheel set at all the way hot. I need to spend some time thinking about why this condition is.As for longevity of this aftermarket part by URO, I hope it is better than the same part made by another aftermarket company that is three letters beginning with “M”. Read the reviews on THAT one first before you decide to buy it. Those reviews are pretty bad, frankly. Good luck.

My duo valve (C126) was leaking coolant and no hot air. These parts did exactly what was needed and had them fitted in 20 minutes. Heat works perfectly now and no leak from the valve.

Been very reluctant with URO parts. But this time they hit one outside the park. Very happy with this one on my 560SL. I would have liked to see directions especially since it came with 2 extra washers. I just left those extras washers out.
