I can’t think of anything I’ve purchased that has pleased me more. My 1965 Ford tractor has given me several problems over the years and I finally started to look at taking out the points and putting in the electronic ignition. Having never done this, I read up on making this change and determined it was the way to go. I ordered the parts, got them in and easily installed them in my current distributor. What a difference. Upset with myself for not doing this years ago. The Pertronix brand proved to be easy to work with. This ignitor was to be installed on my Ford 3000 Tractor. As usual, I didn’t get around to installing it right away so it’s my fault that I didn’t carefully check the box when it came in. Both the top and bottom mounting plates were missing. I spent $150.00 for nothing. Like I say, my fault for not checking but the parts should have been there.

My engine was rebuilt but started missing and cutting out, thought it was water in the gas, but no. I checked the points and they were burnt, cleaned them and a month or so later, same issue. Installed this pointless ignition and the engine does not miss a beat, can idle as low as 3 to 4 hundred rpm if I wanted. My idle has to be under 700 because the torque converter kicks in above 700rpm. This allowed me to set my idle low so when I put it in drive, it does not try to move. No more wearing of the points cam or cleaning the contacts, What I liked most is the engine now fires every beat and they recommend you set your spark plug gap 10 thousandths more than factory setting because the spark is so hot.

Bought this electronic ignition kit to replace breaker points in an older Ford 3000 tractor. The provided connectors/hardware didn’t fit the coil I had and the original coil was lower ohms than required for the new ignition kit.After a trip to the auto parts store for a new coil and using some of my own connectors, the install was easy.Now the old 3000 starts up much better than with the breaker points and runs well.

I got this kit for my 1972 ford 2000 3cylinder gas. the install was super easy and the tractor runs much better now! I would highly recommend matching it with the Petronix coil however. Once I matched the coils up with it there was a clear difference in performance overall

Arrived poorly packaged.Instructions obviously printed in an Asian country.Installed the unit.Had to modify my distributor dust cover due to non-fitment.Module air gap supposed to be set at 30 thoundths,but no slotted holes for adjustment.Tractor wouldn’t start with this great electronic ignitor.Ended up putting points and condensor back in.Now runs fine.Proruct is both a big waste of time and money.Will NEVER
