At first I didn’t think this tool fit the new Corteco Harmonic Balancer I purchased for my 2003 ML350. This tool only fits one way you have to keep turning and trying the different gaps in the balancer until it barely catches. At this point I thought only 1 of the 3 studs on the tool were long enough seemed a few mm short…Then tapped a piece of wood flush with a hammer and all 3 were catching TIGHT just a few mm….Held up to 200+ pounds of torque. Getting it off after torquing required some patience with a rubber hammer…. Tool is very heavy and sturdy.

I have a 2006 Mercedes S430 with a 113 engine. Even though the product copy specifically states that the product fits the HB on a 113 engine, IT DIDN’T FIT AT ALL!! TOTALLY USELESS!!!Unfortunately, it took me a while to get around to replacing the HB, which is when I discovered the tool does not do what it is supposed to do. When I tried to return it, unused, the seller refused to take it back because the return window had closed. Still, the product is DEFECTIVE and/or USELESS, and/or the wrong tool was sent, which violates the “implied warranty of merchantability” contained in California Civil Code section 1791.1. Under the circumstances, the seller should have taken it back regardless of when I tried to return it.

I bout this to pull the pulley on my E55 only to realize my engine is the m113k, not m113. Anyhow this did not work on the pulley. The other pulley holder is about double the price, so i decided to modify this one to work. Put it on the lathe and set compound rest at 5 deg . It only took a little trimming to get it to fit nicely.Point is, they should only make ONE that fits both engines. If its just the pulley and was easily modified as I described, why not? Cause they make more money when you have to buy the holder that’s double the price, or maybe you just have to buy another one which fitsIt really was a hassle but in the end I got it to work.

It worked great for removing the factory balancer. Had to grind down the outside to fit the aftermarket balancer, once it fit it worked great.

This fit the genuine balancer that came off of my car. I had to modify it to install the Corteco aftermarket brand by grinding the side 1mm (just about 1/2 inch wide strip on the edge of the side)to make it seat a little better. The corteco balancer was actually defective and I then purchased a REIN brand balancer on Rockauto which this tool fit perfectly like the genuine version. I received a gold colored one, not black.

Amazon site said it matched for my 2013 C250, but it doesn’t. HOWEVER, the studs on this unscrew and I was able to remove 2 of them and it held the harmonic balancer just fine with only one stud in it. It didn’t even flex or budge.I will say this is very high quality and solid construction!! I haven’t seen this heavy duty of a tool in a long time.

It fit the MB pulley and it fit the replacement pulley it was a OEM dayco. I read that some people had issues with the holder not fitting the replacement pulley, I guess it depends on which brand replacement you purchase.
