Purchased the actuator motor for a 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue. It was specified as an exact fit replacement part. It was a perfect fit, replaced original unit on car. A 15 minute easy effort to install.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C9E4Y2/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title

At first it screeched when I tried to open the trunk but the release still worked so I ignored it. Then it screeched and only opened sometimes. Then the trunk would only release using the inside button. Then it stopped working, period. This went on for a year before I finally decided to do something about it because I knew the dealership would charge me at least $140.00 to fix it ( $75.00 labor plus the mark up on the part ) . Guys – and gals – don’t wait. This is easiest car repair I’ve ever made. You remove 4 bolts ( 2 10mm & 2 7mm ) detach the electrical connection, replace the part and put the bolts back in and it works perfectly. Anyone with a socket set and flat head scewdriver – to help release the electrical connection – can do this in less than 20 minutes. Anyone! Looking at it again I think you only really need to remove the 2 7mm bolts. Go for it.

It arrived quickly and was exactly as described. Worked perfectly and was actually very easy to install on my 2003 Buick Century. Being the OEM maker of the part, this should last 11 years like the last one!

This has been one of the easiest car repairs that I have ever done! Situation: 2003 Buick Century trunk actuator failed. Key in hand doesn’t work. Glove box remote doesn’t work. Key fob release doesn’t work. PANIC! Enter Amazon with GM/AC Delco P/N: 16640852 and Prime Shipping and a day or so for delivery. The remove and replace (R & R) process only took about 20 minutes and I took my time! Tools needed are a 5/16″ or 10mm socket/nut driver, maybe a small screwdriver and possibly a pair of needle nose pliers. The twist and pull removal of the key actuator end was the most challenging to pop off the end and keep from slicing my hand, or both hands, open on the trunk lid access port edges. The small screwdriver may be helpful here. The old cable hold point has to be removed also. The needle nose pliers may prove useful here. Now, remove the 2 mounting screws with the appropriate socket and SAVE THE SCREWS! Remove the electrical connection from the old actuator (this can be removed prior to the screw removals). Place the new actuator in place and reverse the removal process. After replacing the electrical connection, test the actuator to verify operation with the key, push button glove box release and the remote key fob trunk opening. Do the testing BEFORE CLOSING THE TRUNK! Just to make sure. New trunk actuator electrical operation testing can be performed prior to the replacement process for troubleshooting verification (Why replace a part if the electrical isn’t working?). BOTTOM LINE: One of the quickest automotive repairs I have ever done! This part was the perfect replacement part for my needs.
