I am not a mechanic and have only recently started servicing my own Jeep. Changing the differential fluid was recommended by the dealership, along with other maintenance. I was quoted a total price that was stupidly high, so I decided to look into doing it myself. Thank you YouTube for your videos on shock absorbers, brake rotors and pads, cold air intakes, tire selection, rock rails and differentials. I am still not a mechanic, but I do have bragging rights. From what I read and watched, there is an engineering advantage to specific designs of differential covers. The more internal seams and bars, the less the fluid can naturally circulate with gear movement. There are also advantages to having drain/fill plus located strategically. The Yukon Dana44 has a smooth internal design, and has two drain ports; one at the bottom of the cover that you can’t really see in pictures, and the bottom of two ports on the front (you see them both in all pictures). So there are total of three magnetized drain plugs. I also bought the Yukon Dana30 for the front and it did not have the drain on the bottom, so each cover has its own unique design. The cover is mighty thick and strong as hell. I wanted to update the covers from stock for 4 reasons:(1) I was cleaning the gears and replacing oil anyhow after far too many miles w/o servicing(2) I was concerned that the OEM cover could catch a rock and the lip roll back, spilling differential oil(3) The Amazon price was lower than anywhere else and I wanted to buy at that price(4) It is a badass upgradeIt is true that there were no instructions for torquing the bolts, but I am not subtracting stars. Nor am I subtracting for the PIA of tightening two particular recessed bolts that were blocked by a track arm. Would have been easier to get to them with a ratcheting wrench, but the recessed hex bolts do have their obvious advantage. I paired the two Yukon covers with Lube lockers as opposed to RTV for gasket seals, so I used the torque settings of the Lube Lockers as recommended by others.I like the idea of colored cover that really catches the eye, and there are several awesome options, but I didn’t think the extra $$$ was really worthwhile. The Yukon Dana44 cover was more expensive than some others, but significantly less than many others too. For the price, I got all of the engineering upgrades of the more expensive products, but paid less. In my book, that qualifies as a good deal.Hope this review helps you enjoy an off-road adventure.

Es exactamente la medida de la tapa, muy gruesa espero que resistente para las competencias en las rocas, me agrada que tenga varios tapones de drenado y llenado, así cuando tenga que cambiar el aceite ya no sea necesario quitar la tapa

Three ports built into the cover. All have magnets on them to pick up any possible shavings. Drain port, middle is the fill port, and the top well I used that one to get the fluids up to 1/3 of the way up the axle tubes. It’s well worth the money and for almost half the price as everywhere else. It’s a no brainer…

I love this product. It really makes my front and rear axles look good. They are strong, easy to paint (If you sand them and prep them properly) and to install. However! Please don’t make the mistake I made because I watched a youtube video on how one person installed this. The person in said video did not use thread sealant on the drain and fill holes. So naturally neither did I.Big mistake! Please use liquid Teflon on the threads of the fill and drain plugs. Or like me, you will have leaks. Especially if it is hot outside. And yes i tightened it till they were snug but they kept leaking. So I kept tightening after every drive and inspection if it was still leaking. Well i tightened them till they would not tighten anymore. Still leaks. Note the leaks are not from the large gasket area but from the fill and drain plugs.Oh and please only fill to the first fill hole and not the higher second one. Once it starts to spill from the 1st lower fill hole, you are good to plug it. but like mentioned above, use thread sealant!Great product, my mistake on the install gave me problems.

Nice quality cover. Very well packed and all parts included. I recommend picking up a gasket instead of using sealant to make installation fast and easy.

Well made and feels super strong. Love the dual fill ports so I can add the correct amount of gear oil and not have it pour out prematurely on my lifted Jeep. Bought it to protect the ARB I installed at the same time. I didn’t want the ARB diff cover.

This is one of those that you don’t particularly need but makes it stand out from ordinary. Fit and finish is great and appears to be a quality item. I guess time will tell what long term durability will be. My geographic location can do a number on vehicle undercarriages with heavy use of brine to keep ice under control so it will be interesting to see how well it remains this way

Picked up a used 2010 wrangler that needed some refreshing. Wanted to change diff fluid. Why would ANYONE put on a rusty oem diff cover that needs to removed, re-sealed with a gasket/RTV anytime you change fluid? With this incredibly THICC cover (I mean like weighs like twice as much as original plate) a convenient drain plug makes easy work for fluid changes. TWO fill plugs giving you much more custom filling options. And a clean AF look. A worthy upgrade for a reasonable cost. Have it on my Dana 44 and plan on the Dana 30 version when I find the time.
