When we bought this bike I asked the dealer what they had for crash bars that we could add. This is the product they showed me…..but at a higher price, plus an hour of install for this 20 minute job. Since I’m an aviation mechanic, and I own tools I figured I would just buy the highway bars here and install them myself.I received my order in a timely manner, and it looks to be of decent quality for the cost. I laid out all the parts as I always do to ensure that everything is there, and started to mock up the install to identify any potential problems. Unfortunately I found a big one.The lower end of the bars mounts to the frame at the round connection point, the same place you would mount frame sliders. This is fine, the problem is on the top end of the bars where they are to be clamped to the bike frame. The alignment puts this connection point at the same place as the top radiator mount AND touching the upper frame weld.In short this product does NOT fit this bike without modification, which I wasn’t willing to do. Then to add insult to injury I had to pay for the return shipping……why do I pay almost $200/year for Amazon prime, again??I will update and lower my rating even further if I don’t see the return in my bank account this week.

Installed on: 2023 Honda Rebel 500 ABS SEInstall time: approx 1 hourTools used:- Adjustable Torque Wrench with 14mm Socket- Long 5mm / 8mm Allen Wrench- 14mm Standard Wrench- 10mm socket wrench (for moving parts around)Pros:Good price.- Sturdy construction with good welds.- Looks good and fits the aesthetic of the bike, in my opinion.- Straight forward installation.- Doesn’t distract from your ride or add any unwanted balance or weight issues.- They provide torque measurements for installCons:- Not a “perfect” fit and took time to move other parts to compensate for install- The paper pads used to protect the frame from the upper supports are not ideal. A better solution should be found.- The operating width doesn’t seem wide enough to protect anything other than the engine/clutch chassis themselves from a fall. If you have long side mirrors, controls or exhaust; they will hit the ground before the rail does.- The “GIVI” plastic add-on plates do not exactly fit well and the screws provided chew up the plastic so you have to try to balance the fit the first time or the screw can strip the plastic and no longer tightenSummary:I purchased these for my bike for protection as well as the look. Overall I’m happy with them but for a few caveats ( see above ). The majority of my time during installation was spent getting around the radiator and the cabling in order to get the mounts to the right position. There is a weld at the top precisely where the top brackets mount but if you are patient, you can get a good fit. In the end, I don’t regret my purchase and I think they look good on the bike. I would recommend.

I was kinda nervous when i bought this because of the reviews i have a rebel 500 abs 2023 and it says that it doesnt fit. I saw a video on youtube of someone installing it in german and the main issue i guess on the others that had difficulty was the attachment on the top which is easily fixed by removing just the top screw of the radiator, that will give you just enough to position everythinv and tighten the attachments.Since i kinda have a general idea on what im doing based on that video i installed this in just under 20 minutes very easy hope this helps. I guess this were way better than those generic chinese brands with questionable welds.

Overall, it is as described. Not happy the powder coat peeled and washer broke when properly torqued. It is a tight fit, but looks good. Paint doesn’t match the frame, but is close. We will see how well they hold up.
