I really do like this product in general, most new cars these days have hood struts and the not so lucky ones like the Corolla have a prop rod for the hood and it’s very annoying to use that everytime I open the hood. That is where these come in handy, easy to install, reasonable price, and they hold up pretty well, curious to see how long they last but the best part is the sound they make when they raise up the hood, I do recommend if you have a Corolla!

Where do I start, when received this product a day earlier than expected I was very excited to put it on. I had read the reviews and look at several videos on how to install even look at the instructions that were included unfortunately, they did not work, and I was about to give up and return this product. As you can see in the first few photos. The bonnet did not close correctly.But I happen to come across a You-tube video that explain the options on installing, so after watching it and trial and error I got it to work to my liking so now my bonnet opens and closes like it should. Please see the last 3 photos with the attachment lower part of Bonnet that work great. I recommend them to anyone who want to lose the prop rod!These are very strong and well-built Hood struts. If you decide to get this pack some patience and time. It took me 30 mins to get it the way I like it, so I give it 4 out of 5 stars. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I thought it would be a 5-minute job and a breeze, but overall, it was worth the money I paid for it, take your time and do it right!

Product states NO MACHING OR DRILLING, bull! I spent 2 hours trying to install these. I AM mechanically inclined.First this may have been a used kit. One bracket slightly bent and finish scratches. The stock hood latch bolt has a raised area under head of bolt which is larger than the slot in the bracket. So i spent time grinding out slot so bolt will secure flush. Otherwise it barely makes contact.The other HUGE ISSUE as others stated os the HOOD CANT CLOSE. So more modifications. I cut the plastic deflector below the windshield so the strut can lower without interference.I needed struts do to surgery thats why didnt return item. I hate that Amazon supports these sellers! I looked further into reviews and very similar problems.Hope this helps. Also if you installed these somehow, check to see if you have flush contact with hood latch bolt to bracket.Thanks
