Very important note, this kit does come with double sided tape strips (but it will be underneath the digitizer in the case). So no need to buy double-sided tape separately and then cut into thin strips. With no previous experience, the job takes about two hours, could probably be done in 30 minutes after doing it once. Performance of this digitizer screen is at least as good as the factory original. Far cheaper doing myself that then at the dealership or audio shop. And as others have said, shame on Toyota for not being able to fixe cracked digitizers at the dealership and only offer multi-thousand dollar replacements of the entire radio/navigation unit.

I was quoted almost 6 thousand dollars at Saint John Toyota to fix my touchscreen. The whole unit is replaced they don’t just replace the screen. We ordered this screen and the tools and within one and a half hours with help of you tube the screen was successfully replace.

Installed this replacement digitizer and it worked well for a week and then stopped. None of the buttons worked. Had to install the old one as at least some of the buttons worked with it.

When installed correctly it works as promised. Relatively simple to install, whole process less than an hour and saves significant money doing it yourself.

I went on youtube a viewed a video on how to remove the radio and replace the touch screen. I had purchased the tools, very inexpensive. I then removed the trim and air vents and the radio bolts. I pulled out the radio and had 4 colored sharpies that I marked each plug male and female so I would know for sure what to plug back in on installation. I also used a tube of adhesive to touch on the end of my small phillips head screwdriver so it was easier to reinstall the small screws in tight places. I also had a long magnet for retrieving any small screws that fell down in the radio. All went well, saved me $1800, the cost Toyota wanted. Good product and great value.

2017 highlander worked perfectly! The installation is not simple unless you work with electronics regularly. Toyota can only sell the screen with the stereo as an assembly for around $7300.
