I tried a smaller black, square CB rated at 200A. It heated up significantly and tripped around 125A. Tried another rated at 250A…not much better. I bought and installed this one in my travel trailer. Although larger and more expensive, it stayed closed at 200A, and tripped at a higher amperage after about 20 minutes. This one trips as expected and doesn’t get excessively warm. Unlike the cheapies I tried, I have reasonable confidence that this device will open at an appropriate current to protect the electrical system without being a fire hazard.

If you are looking at this breaker you probably have had enough of those cheapo $20 breakers from ebay and amazon.THIS IS THE REAL DEAL. A Heavy duty pro quality breaker.I couldn’t be more pleased with it.Im running a 3000 amp hour 24 volt battery bank into my inverter through this breaker.I’ve tried several other slightly cheaper options but none of them held up or they had thermal issues and would gradually heat up and trip. Save yourself the frustration and just get this breaker!!Hopefully someone reads this and it saves them all the frustration I went through.

Very massive, feels solidly built and seems to work according to specifications – the most I’ve loaded it with is 375A for ~20 minutes and that did not make it trip. Also works well as a switch for connecting/disconnecting a battery to an inverter the few times it’s needed.

Great breaker, heavy duty. fast shipping. Mounting the breaker with the screws that came with them is poor. Resetting the breaker takes a lot of force, you will have to come up with a different way to secure the breaker.

This breaker is very well built. It was not clear if it came with any screws, but after opening the box it did, along with an allen wrench for the terminals. The screws seam to be a little on the light duty side for such a heavy duty breaker. I have sourced my own screws for my project.I have not tested the breaker for ampacity of 400amps yet, but does way more the the 172amps.This replaced the other cheap black china breaker that were rated for 300amps but tripped every time they got to 160amps.

Hi Solar folks, I was using the 600 AMP battery cutoff switches but noticed that under load the heat would build up on the switch terminal and finally during a particularly sunny day with a large load on my system the switch body melted down and killed my system! I replaced it another one and with a new switch I was seeing the same issue! Finally fed-up I spent the money for this unit – WOW what a difference, there is not heat issue at all with the internal contact of this switch! FYI those so called 600 amp battery cutoff switch’s are not capable of even 300 amp constant connection! look inside one and you will see that the contact area is about an 1/8 of an inch around and poorly spring loaded!

Switch doesn’t work. Always open. No current flows throw it. Junk
