If you own a Corvette or any GM car with an LT1 engine and you do the work, this is a must have part. Being a hard head, I tired installing timing cover twice. One just by greasing all seal points and second using a sharpie as shown on Net. Neither worked both leaked! What a pain to pull down, clean and install new seals–Again. Broke down and bought this tool, problem solved! No tears, no leaks. Wish I’d bought this to start with.

You can’t install the water pump drive shaft seal without this tool on LT1. You will definitely screw up the seal trying to install free hand.
