I haven’t actually used this, but I see no reason why it won’t work, and certainly better than any worn out secondhand carb you try and rebuild. The fact that all the components are brand new is reassuring. And so cheap!

2/2024 UPDATE: After about 15k miles I can report this carburetor has worked flawlessly and I’m glad I purchased it. It did require minor touches out of the box, but has proven to be a great value.1/2023: I purchased this carburetor out of curiosity and haven’t worked on a real Weber 38 to compare it to. I took it apart to clean it, check jetting, and see how the float was set. The air correction jets are marked and the emulsion tubes are marked but the rest of the jets are unmarked and you will need a gauge to size them. One of the idle mixture screws(brass) was bent in shipping so I replaced both with parts I had on hand. The float arrived adjusted appropriately and the idle mixture screws arrived “2 turns out”. There are some minor imperfections in the casting on the gasket surface but it didn’t affect sealing. I did remove a little casting flash and smooth out the aux. venturi. Overall, this is a useful carburetor for me because I am comfortable with disassembling and replacing the parts it needed. It’s very worth my while. Someone else may have returned it or may not have noticed the imperfections. The carburetor was installed on a 2 liter engine and is working well with appropriate vacuum. It does use the same bolt pattern as the 36/32 but the accelerator cable is reversed as was the fuel inlet. It arrived with an electric choke installed and parts to make it a manual choke. Also included was a cap to block off the evap vent, breather studs(with the wrong size lock nuts), manifold gasket, three throttle plate options, and and extra fuel inlet nipple.

Bolts right up! Set it in place of my decades old Weber and fired right up! Smooth idle and solved my acceleration issues. Seems solid!

It is an excellently built carb. It’s way more responsive than my old 32/36 Weber and gives my cars a lot more power, overall very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone … Excellent value for money and functions way better than expected.
