This dual cable throttle/choke control unit was purchased as a direct replacement for my Simplicity Conquest lawn tractor. Yes, this part looks like the original one, the part number matched exactly and for the most part it fit almost exactly, but, as we all know the China knock-off parts are always a little bit different. I was able to install this part on my tractor but with relative difficulty. Where the problem came in was with the way the “z bend” was made(for those who don’t know what a “z” bend shape is its at the very end of the cable where it is shaped like the letter Z which allows the cable to attach to a hole in the carburetor / choke linkages ). The “Z” bend in the cable must be bent in a certain direction to allow it to be inserted easily into the corresponding hole from a direction “outside in.” On this particular part the Z bend was made in a mirror image (bent backwards)to the OEM part and could not be easily installed in its proper position. To facilitate installation almost all of the throttle and choke shaft linkages had to be removed so the cables could be installed from the “inside out”, then all linkages and shafts had to be reinstalled. Of course the new cables now work properly but it was way more work than it would have been if the bends were made in the proper direction ( the cables have a temper built into them and if you try to re-bend them they usually break.) Now, I hold no animosity toward the seller or to Amazon. I am satisfied with this part and with this purchase. This is just a prime example of the difference between more expensive OEM parts and cheap China parts. I chose the cheaper price and ultimately paid the price! I would recommend this part to others if asked. Thanks.

I have now bought two of these and both had the same point of failure. I’m not trying another. The point where the cable connects inside at the lever has disconnected twice and damaged the plastic hole meant to retain it. I can’t believe that there isn’t some sort of reinforced metal insert or something for that connection. Cheap garbage.

This item fit perfectly and had zero issues with installation. Only gripe is that you have have to hold one lever in place if you’re not moving them both at the same time because of the friction between.

This product was not good. It didn’t fit the same as the existing product even though they were an exact match. Once I got it on and hooked up the throttles rubbed against each other too much. While checking over everything the engine speed throttle stopped working and the compression fitting came off the end of the cable making it useless. I had to then take both old and new throttle bodies apart and combined the good parts to make something that works. It also looked as if the new part had been used or someone took an old part slapped it on this one and returned it shown by the dirt on one side of it in the picture. I would not recommend this product to anyone or purchase it again myself.

I received this part as a Christmas gift as a replacement to the old one for my 2002 Simplicity Prestige lawn mower. Upon installation, the throttle lever immediately broke when I attempted to throttle up the engine. The cable that runs from the lever housing to the engine popped out of the plastic lever, deeming it unusable. Putting the cable back in its place required disassembling it and trying very hard to get it to go back in and the housing broke and had to be taped. I reinstalled it when the fix was done, but it once again broke when used for the intended purpose. To top all of that, this was way more expensive than the others like it (over $10 more)! I do not recommend.
