- Carburetors can’t be installed on Chevrolet 235ci engines in the early 1950s. Although their structures are similar, the mounting ports and air filter mounting ports are different, and the size of the internal main jets is also different.
- Carburetor is suitable for Chevrolet 6-cylinder 235ci pickup truck from 1957 to 1962.When experienced mechanics first install a carburetor, they usually lightly tap the carburetor fuel inlet pipe, which has a needle valve inside. The needle valve needs to be moved up and down in advance to avoid sticking and causing leakage.

Put two of these on a 1954 bel air 235 I6 engine and drove it a total of 68 miles before the idle mixture screw started vibrating loose while driving, and the accelerator pump on the other one starting seeping gas out onto the intake and exhaust manifold. Buy a rebuild kit for your factory Rochester and save your money

The automatic choke would not open properly so I replaced it with the choke from the old carburetor. The mixture is too rich, probably because the car is at an elevation of 5000 ft. I would like to go to a size smaller main jet, but the jet in the carburetor doesn't have a size stamp and the manufacturer doesn't list the size in the specifications.
