I received it in two days, which was awesome. I really only needed a replacement solenoid, but the price on this was good enough that it made sense to buy the starter/solenoid combo and not worry about compatibility and/or stuff lining up properly. I hoped it was a direct replacement for my existing starter, but wasn’t 100% sure because my tractor is 22 years old and couldn’t find any part numbers on the existing starter/solenoid. Someone mentioned the size and bolt spacing in a previous review, which helped determine it was probably the correct one. It turned out to be a perfect match, installed in minutes and my tractor started right up. I’ve tested it for multiple days now and it cranks up first time every time. Great buy! I hope it last, but even if I get a few years out of it, the price is cheap enough to replace now that I know I have the right part # and where to get it, which is always a concern with an older tractor. I have a 1995 Yard-Man (MTD) lawn tractor with Kohler 22HP engine in case anyone else looking for similar. I didn’t want to dump a lot of money into it and was considering buying a new riding mower, so finding this saved me about $1700.

Perfect fit for my John Deere GT225 with a Kohler CV460. My only complaint is that there is not divider between the positive terminal and the small lead from the ignition switch, so i was worried it could potentially ground them together. But considering it cost about 1/7th what the JD part costs, I’ll deal with it. Cranks strong!

Replaced the starter on my old Craftsmans yard tractor. Works like a champ (although I have other wiring issues).A general comment regarding your tractor — recommend slapping some silicone grease on all exposed contacts to inhibit corrosion. The spade lug that was connected to the original starter was rusty and made contact unreliable. This item was an exact replacement despite a part number change. No fitting issues.

Installed this on my 2000 Scag Turf Tiger with Kohler Command CH25 engine. Engine has started immediately every time I have turned the key. This is a great, economical replacement for the original starter.
