To be completely honest, I was ASE-certified in auto body collision, paint, and repair prior to joining the military.I used the aerosol cans from Automotive Touch Up paint for the color and these cans for the clear coat. I must say I’m impressed!Although painting is 80% prep work, cheap clear coat looks pretty obvious. As far as longevity, I can’t speak for it but it seems strong and one of my projects is over a year old with signs of age (properly protected with ceramic coating and routine waxing).This clear coat can has a great fan spread when spraying, shoots out a proper amount of clear, and doesn’t clog up. Just be careful with having your finger a little over! It will hit your finger and drip. That’s just user error. I would recommend one of those aerosol gun holders for fatigue. It isn’t a hard press but overtime it can be a little tiring. You want to maintain focus whenever spraying.Remember this is a two part clear coat! You activate the hardener by pressing the bottom with the supplied red button. That means within the prescribed time (I believe it’s a few hours with this brand), it will harden in the can and become unusable. This is normal and what makes this clear better among the rest.This product goes highly recommended by me!Just a tip for DIYers:Whenever spraying color, use tack cloths to remove light overspray between coats. It will result in smoother clear in the end. Whenever spraying clear, go HEAVY. Obviously not enough to drip but enough to create a smooth mirror finish. What my original instructor always told me is “Pretend like you are a robot on an assembly line”. Move robotic, 50/50 overpass, and follow the same spray pattern between coats. Most importantly, tell yourself “I do need it”. What I mean by that, when you find yourself asking “do I really need tack cloths? It doesn’t seem to have any overspray” or “should I wipe this panel again with wax/grease remover?”. YES YOU DO. It’s way better to be extra than sorry at the end. Those extra steps is what makes a perfect paint job.

I have a cedar creek 5th wheel that as faded front and rear caps. I was told by forest river they knew they had a problem with the caps but since I was not the original owner they would not cover it, shame on them! So I have been driving around with faded , no shine caps since we bought it. A paint shop wanted 1500.00 per cap to prepare and spray each cap with clear coat, but we live in it so that was no option. I stumbled on this on Amazon and decided I had nothing to loose . Wow, should have purchased a long time ago! It is everything people say about. Great fan pattern QUICK DRYING dry to touch in a half hour. It is hard and not tacky. Clear and shiny. One thing though, if spraying outdoors don’t get in a hurry, wait for a calm wind day it will drift off. Wear rubber gloves, face mask and eye protection for safety. In short THIS STUFF IS GREAT AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Wow! Great Results! Easy To Use!My 2001 4Runner resto/refurb project has the typical clear coat issues on hood and roof. Rest of the paint and body is in great original condition. I do not mind and even kind of like the “clear coat over patina” look so purchased this 2k product to restore the finish.Prepped with 1000g/Dawn wash/alcohol wipe down and tack cloth. Sprayed on 2 light, even tack coats then as others have posted, I applied a heavy/wet/thick 50% overlap finish coat.It sprays a nice sized, even fan pattern. Lays down really smooth and glossy and is very easy to use!Before and after pics for reference. As sprayed, has not been cut or compounded. Very pleased with the results! Going to do the roof next. Be sure to wear proper cartridge type PPE!

I used this product to apply a clear coat as final finish on bicycle frames I refinished. I had the frames powder coated first. Then prepped the surface lightly with a gold scotch Brite pad, the grade used for clear coat prep. I then applied reproduction decals to the frame and fork. I then applied this clear coat. I’m not a painter at all and was able to apply a clear finish with this product that was smooth without runs. I used the left over in the can to apply a fresh gloss coat on some old fishing rod blanks that needed a refinish.Before to wear a mask that protects against solvent vapors and paint mist when using this product. The basic N95 dust mask will not do. Get a proper mask with cartridge filters.
